Jokic Dominates with Triple-Double Performance
Nikola Jokić put up a monster triple-double in Game 1 of the 2023 NBA Playoffs, leading the Denver Nuggets to a 108-103 victory over the Miami Heat. Jokic finished with 30 points, 14 rebounds, and 7 assists, while also adding 2 blocks and 2 steals.
The Heat were led by Jimmy Butler, who had 25 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists. Bam Adebayo also had a solid game with 19 points and 10 rebounds, but it wasn't enough to overcome Jokic's performance.
The Nuggets jumped out to an early lead in the first quarter and never looked back. They led by as many as 15 points in the second quarter, but the Heat managed to cut the lead to just 5 points at halftime.
The Heat made a run in the third quarter and tied the game at 72-72, but the Nuggets responded with a 10-0 run to take control of the game. Jokic was unstoppable in the fourth quarter, scoring 10 points and dishing out 3 assists to help the Nuggets close out the victory.
The Nuggets now have a 1-0 lead in the series and will look to take a 2-0 lead when they host the Heat in Game 2 on Wednesday night.
