TPM-Backed Full Disk Encryption Now Available on Ubuntu Desktop
Coming to Ubuntu 23.10 Mantic
Based on Ubuntu Core's FDE design, Canonical is bringing TPM-backed full disk encryption to classic Ubuntu Desktop systems starting with Ubuntu 2310 Mantic. TPM (Trusted Platform Module) devices have two main implementations: TPM 1.2 and TPM 2.0. This post goes over the installation steps for the TPM2 stack (tpm2-tss, tpm2-abrmd, and tpm2-tools) on Ubuntu Server 22.04 LTS.
